Several weeks ago, the New Zealand Wool Classers Association held it’s AGM and industry day in Mosgiel.
Included in the day were presentations, displays and wool classing exercises, as well as the 2021 season Classer Awards.
WoolWorks was very pleased to be invited to speak at this event and we were represented by Rosstan Mazey, our Business Development Manager, and Mitchell Young, our South Island Trainee Woolscour Manager.
Rosstan provided a presentation that highlighted the challenges of the industry, his role with WoolWorks, and his role as the Chairman of the New Zealand National Council of Wool Interests, as well as the role that the New Zealand National Council of Wool Interests plays in the industry.
As part of the industry day, Mitchell Young fronted a contamination display to raise awareness for the problems that contamination causes to the industry and the risk to the reputation of New Zealand wool if this contamination is not found and sorted out at the scour. Contamination is an industry-wide issue and needs attention from all parts of the industry to resolve.
