PARTNERING DIRECTLY WITH NEW ZEALAND WOOL GROWERS TO DELIVER A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

GROWER INFORMATION

WoolWorks is the largest wool processor in the world, annually processing approximately 100 million greasy kilograms of wool, or 80% of the New Zealand wool clip.

We aim to deliver a sustainable future for the New Zealand wool industry and this includes wool growers.

WoolWorks Grower Direct (WGD) has been established to deliver an efficient, low-cost, new route to market for growers.

WGD is nationwide, operating in both North and South Islands. Our woolstores are strategically located near our Wool Scouring plants in Timaru and Napier.

GROWER BENEFITS

We are confident that we can maximise grower returns with real benefits that include:

  • Low Handling fees
  • Low Wool Testing fees
  • Realising the pricing benefit of selling wool physically situated at WoolWorks.
  • We have the experience to take a practical approach to your wool to optimise its value and align it with market opportunities
  • We will promote opportunities that recognise specific wool attributes and on-farm certifications such as NZFAP Plus, Low-Carbon and RegenAg

SALE OF WOOL

Wool destined for the spot market will be offered for sale predominantly using an online sales platform that is fully supported by all major buyers of NZ wool. Or we can sell by private arrangement.

As wool will be physically situated at our Timaru or Napier wool stores, growers will enjoy pricing benefits compared to selling it physically located in other regions.

Payment will be 10 working days from the date of sale, or sooner.

WOOL PREPARATION TIPS TO MAXIMISE YOUR RETURNS

  • Please aim for bales weights in the 160-180Kgs range, and ensure wool packs are in satisfactory condition
  • Do not exceed 200Kgs, and likewise light/soft bales can cause issues with transportation and storage
  • Please remind your shearing contractor to ensure bales are free from contamination
  • Price premiums can be achieved for well prepared, well graded/classed lines of wool
  • If in doubt leave it out
  • Please contact us in advance of shearing if you require our wool classers help
